This estate Belais old European diamond cut engagement ring is spectacular.  This center old European-cut diamond has a round bezel mounting to hold the center diamond firmly in place.  Each shoulder is embellished with an old mine cut diamond to add extra fire. This estate filigree Belais ring is crafted in 18kt ( 750 ) white gold.

The Belais Brothers jewelry company was one of the first American jewelry companies to make jewelry in white gold, starting in 1917.

Old European diamonds are often confused with old mine cut diamond.  Both diamond cuts have high crowns, fewer facets and look fabulous in candlelight.  Old European cut diamonds were the most prevalent diamond cut from 1900 to 1920.
