Traditional six diamond estate wedding band ring in platinum.  This estate ring has six well matched brilliant-cut diamonds horizontally mounted.  These well matched diamonds are all mounted in platinum, the most pure white metal.

The hallmark 10% IRID PLAT is an indication that this ring is 90% platinum.  The 10% iridium was added to make platinum a more flexible metal.   Compare platinum to gold used in the USA and discover that gold is usually at most 75% pure ( 18KT ) or 58.5% pure (14KT), thereby making platinum the most pure metal.  White gold is not at pure as platinum at 90%.  White gold is finished with an iridium finish which can yellow with time.
