Round diamonds pull together to resemble a fresh bouquet of flowers in this estate engagement ring. This circa 1930s engagement ring has eight glistening old European-cut diamonds assembled to form a round floral basket engagement ring. Centered is one slightly larger old European diamond circled by seven slightly smaller old European-cut diamonds. These old diamonds are mounted in a round slightly, elevated ring mounting. the appearance of a larger diamond is given when the seven smaller diamonds are grouped close together. This estate engagement ring is crafted in 14kt white gold.
Old European diamonds were cut in the early 1900s. They were the transitional diamond following the old mine cut diamond and preceding today's brilliant cut diamond. These diamonds are recognized by fewer facets and a rounded girdle. They are admired for their romantic radiance in candlelight.
