This natural yellow diamond is cut in an old-European cut.  Old European cut diamonds were the most popular diamond cut in the early 1900s.  They were the transitional diamond cut after the old-mine cut diamonds and before today's brilliant cut diamonds.  They are admired for their romantic reflection of candlelight.
