This 1920s double diamond engagement ring is a beautiful, as well as unique. The round shape of this ring encircles two flashy old European-cut diamonds. Two bright, clear square shaped diamonds create an interesting design, as they highlight the beauty of the double diamonds. A close look at the underside of this ring reveals an interesting combination of designs that include a jagged edge open design, a criss-cross fence pattern and engraved flowers. Two natural dark blue sapphires are elegantly positioned on the sides of this ring. (14kt, 0.86 ct tw diamonds).
Old European-cut diamonds were the predominant diamond cut from 1900 to 1920. They are often confused with the preceding cut, the old mine-cut. Both diamond cuts have high diamond crown and fewer facets than today's brilliant-cut diamonds. Old European-cut diamonds come to full life in dimly lit rooms or in candlelight.
