This old diamond is held by four prongs in a square shaped white gold mounting. This solitaire ring is completed with a simple14kt /18kt yellow gold mounting.
Old European diamond cuts may be recognized by their rounded girdle, open culet and high crown. Old-European cuts were the most common diamond cut at the end of the 1800s and into the early 1900s. This diamond cut is often confused with old-mine cut diamonds.
